Over the weekend I dove into baking my own homemade dog treats for the first time!
It was one of the most fun things I’ve done in a while. It’s an easy way to save money on treats and to know the ingredients your dogs are consuming. Try it for yourself!
Here’s the homemade dog treat recipe:
2 Bananas
2-3 Table Spoonfuls of Crazy Richard’s Peanut Butter
1 cup of Quick Oats
Mash and stir it altogether in a bowl. Using a dog bone cookie cutter on a nonstick pan, fill the cookie cutter up with the mixture then remove the cookie cutter. I purchased my dog bone cookie cutter from Walmart, but you can find them in most retail stores. Bake on 350 degrees in your oven for 10-12 minutes. Let cool! After letting the treats cool for about 15 minutes, your dog is now ready to enjoy! Remember to use this as a treat and not as a dog food replacement. Let us know what they think of the recipe.
It was also a great discovery of @crazyrichardspb which is safe for dogs. A lot of peanut butters contain a harmful ingredient called Xylitol which is a sugar substitute safe for humans and extremely poisonous and dangerous for dogs. Meanwhile Crazy Richard’s is made of 100% peanuts – no other ingredients. And P.S. this isn’t an ad for them – just passing on this helpful information to keep your doggos safe!
